Release notes

What's new in AS IT LIES.

Every version since the first one, newest on top.

1.7October 2026 · iPhone · Apple Watch · Android

Sign in with Apple or Google

One tap at the front door. Your name comes with it, and your spot follows you to any phone.

  • On iPhone, sign in with Apple or Google. On Android, Google.
  • Email and a six digit code still works, for anyone who prefers it.

Apple Watch, steadier

  • A score you save on the watch is kept, even if the phone is asleep or the app closes mid-send.
  • Your group's scores reach your wrist as they land.
  • Sync now tries again on its own and tells you plainly what happened.

The beer cart, from your wrist

A fourth watch page. Your hole is already filled in: turn the crown if you've moved on, tap Call It, and the cart knows where you are.

  • The watch leaderboard shows where the cart is: Cart on 7.

Shotgun starts

  • Each group can start on its own hole, and your scorecard opens on yours.
  • Thru counts holes played, so a group that started on 10 isn't finished when it crosses 18.

Mulligans

  • Mark a mulligan on the card. It's counted and shown on the leaderboard, and it never changes the score.

The day's numbers

  • A live band on the leaderboard: the hottest stretch, the best net, the hardest hole, front nine against back, and more.

How the day went

  • At Final, the day's story is written once and sits under the share card, with the holes that decided it. Share the card and the story goes with it.

For captains

  • Manage This Outing gains the day's numbers, and its scoring counts always match the leaderboard.
  • From a laptop, desk.asitlies.app now shows the activity log, messages and settings at a glance, and prints tee sheets, cart signs and scorecards.

Plus small fixes throughout.

1.6August 2026 · iPhone · Apple Watch · Android

On iPhone, 1.6 also carried everything from 1.5.

Score from your watch

AS IT LIES is now on Apple Watch. Join the outing on your phone once and the watch follows for the whole round.

  • The score starts at par. Tap it right, tap Save, and the leaderboard moves in every pocket on the property.
  • Your full scorecard and the live leaderboard ride one swipe away, right on your wrist.
  • No signal by the green? The watch holds the score and sends it the moment it can. The phone stays in the bag.

The Trip

Plan the trip months before you go. One tap makes an empty trip with its own code; the crew talks in the trip's messages and pencils in days, with courses and dates staying loose until you open each one for real.

  • Every day feeds one trip leaderboard, and one settle at the end.
  • Open a penciled day and the app offers the same money game as yesterday, or none at all.

Sign up is the front door

First name, last name, email, a six digit code. No password, ever.

  • Joining anything takes just the code: your name is already filled in.
  • Your spot follows your account to any phone, and rounds played before you signed up can be claimed in one tap.

Run the day from the leaderboard

For captains: the scoring format, the money game and junk each keep a band right on the leaderboard, all day.

  • Arm the money game and junk while creating the outing. The field sees the stakes from the first tap.
  • Manage This Outing puts the state of the day on one screen, and a captain's notice is promoted on the leaderboard itself.

Plus a cleaner Home and menu, and small fixes throughout, including sign-in that finds your spot again after a reinstall.

1.5August 2026 · Android

Reached iPhone inside 1.6.

Simulator golf

Winter rounds at the sim bay count too. Flip one switch when you create the outing and it plays in its own lane.

  • Sim rounds build their own Sim Handicap. Your outdoor number never mixes with bay numbers.
  • The SIM mark rides the leaderboard, the TV, and your history, so a bay round never passes for a course round.
  • A sim league stamps every week on its own, and league leaderboards now say where the season stands: Wk 4 of 10.

Sponsors on the leaderboard

The outing's sponsors now ride the live leaderboard, presented like broadcast coverage.

  • The Presented by strip sits with the leaderboard on every phone. Tap a sponsor to visit them.
  • Every sponsor gets a home on the outing's public sponsors page.
  • On the clubhouse TV, big fields rotate so every name gets the screen, the leader stays posted up top, and the top sponsor takes the whole TV for a few seconds every few minutes, like a commercial break.

Plus small fixes throughout.

1.3July 2026 · iPhone · Android

The first release on Google Play.

Your handicap

Sign in with just your email: a code, no password, no profile. Every round you post builds the AS IT LIES Handicap, one personal number that follows you across every group and every trip.

  • My Handicap shows your number, every round's math, and whether it made your best 8.
  • Rounds you played before signing in count too: claiming your name adopts them.
  • The leaderboard shows when a round is counting toward your handicap, and one tap undoes a claim that isn't you.

The Roar

The leaderboard now reaches your pocket. When anyone birdies or the top spot changes hands, every phone on the outing gets the word on the lock screen, before the group chat.

  • Roars arrive whether the app is open, closed, or the phone is locked.
  • Each moment keeps its own notification, so the story of the day is waiting when you look up.
  • On or off with one tap, right on the leaderboard.

The leaderboard

  • The Gross · Net and Teams · Players switches now sit right on the table they control.
  • A cleaner footer, and a status line that shows your round is counting toward your handicap.

Plus small fixes throughout.

1.1July 2026 · iPhone

The Group Handicap

Your group now has its own handicap for every player, built automatically from rounds the group actually played together. Nobody types in a number, and nobody has to take anyone's word for it.

  • See exactly how many strokes each player gets before the money games start, and on which holes.
  • Captains can set a starting number for a new player until real rounds take over.
  • Every group's numbers live in the new Group Handicaps list in the menu.

The Matchplay Ladder

A season-long ladder for your group.

  • Challenge the player above you, play the match, winner takes the rung.
  • Call someone out right from the ladder. They get a notification on their phone.
  • When the season ends, crown the champion and relaunch a fresh season in one tap.
  • Join with a simple code, same as everything else.

Money games

  • New contests: long drive and closest to the pin, paid out in the final tally.
  • Pots can now split across first, second, and third place.
  • Players can sit out a game they don't want in on. The math handles it, and the leaderboard shows who's in.
  • Once the round is set, only the captain can change the games and stakes. No mid-round surprises.
  • Mark who has paid up after the round.

Settling up

  • When the last score lands, the leaderboard turns into the final tally: one screen shows who owes what.
  • Tap any line of the tally to see exactly where the money came from: every skin, press, and side bet explained in plain English.

Setting up a round

  • The new Game page puts everything about your round's games in one place before you tee off: change the format, adjust stakes, lock the field.
  • Your name in an outing is now protected. Once you've joined, nobody can take your spot by accident.
  • Creating an outing always shows exactly which account you're signed in with.

Scoring by hand

  • The scorecard now shows par for every hole and looks like a real card, pencil digits and all. Post to the leaderboard whenever you're ready.

All over the app

  • A back button in the same place on every screen.
  • Bigger, easier-to-read text throughout.
  • Clear messages when your connection acts up, and nothing you tap gets lost.
  • Dozens of small fixes to animations and wording.
1.0July 2026 · iPhone

The first version. One live leaderboard for the whole group, read straight from the paper scorecards you already keep.

The card

  • Photograph your card at the turn or after the round. The app reads the handwriting, checks the arithmetic against the totals you wrote, and asks about a digit only when it isn't sure. One tap settles it.
  • Scores you type in by hand carry the same weight as a photographed card.
  • Every card photo stays on the record, attached to the scores it produced.

The leaderboard

  • Gross and net views, live positions, and thru tracking across every foursome, on every phone within seconds.
  • Anyone can watch from a shared link. A join code and your name is all it takes to play.

The money

  • Skins, nassau with presses, match play, best ball, scramble, stableford, wolf, vegas, the rabbit, and junk.
  • Settle Up nets the whole day into who pays whom.
  • New to a format? The built-in guide explains every game in plain English.

Trips

  • Wrap more than one day into a trip: cumulative standings, per-day results, and one ledger for the whole weekend.
