A season-long callout ladder for your group: the golf buddies, the office, the simulator league. Anyone can challenge a rung above. The match is scored from the card, and the winner takes the rung. No league required, no commissioner, no spreadsheet.
Everyone starts on a rung. Tap a name up to three rungs above you and the callout is on: the defender gets a week to answer and three to play. Win, and you take their rung. Lose, and you know exactly who to come back for.
Duck it? Declining or running out the clock hands the rung over anyway. The ladder has no hiding places, and a rung that sits idle for a month opens to a challenge from anyone.
Play the challenge round and keep score like you always have: on the card. One player photographs it, the app reads it, and the match is settled hole by hole, match play: 3&2 is 3&2 because the card says so.
Playing to handicaps? A net ladder gives strokes on the exact holes the stroke index says, so a 15 calling out a 6 is a real fight, not a formality. And every settled match keeps the card photo behind the result, so the ladder is a record, not a group-chat argument.
Both players in a league night or group outing anyway? If your match is decided in the same round, it settles itself. No separate challenge round needed.
The clocks do the commissioner’s job: seven days to answer, twenty-one to play, and an unanswered callout swaps the rungs on its own. Rematch fishing is blocked: beat somebody else first, then come back.
The rungs live at a public link anyone can open: the group chat, the office, the bar TV. It's current the moment a match settles. When you end the season, rung 1 is the champion, and next season reseeds from where everyone finished.
The Matchplay Ladder doesn’t need a league night, a committee, or even a course. Any round anywhere settles a callout: eighteen at the club, nine after work, a bay at the sim lounge.
Simulator leagues
The bays are booked all week; give them something to fight over. A ladder on the lounge wall fills Tuesday slots on its own: callouts book the matches, the standings run live on the bar TV, and the season crowns a champion by spring. Sim rounds type in from the phone in seconds, and one $49 pass covers the whole facility’s season. Players pay nothing.
Friends & workplaces
Your group already argues about it; put it on rungs. No league to run and nothing to schedule: call somebody out, play your regular Saturday round, and the card decides. The rungs update in the group chat before the beers arrive, and the record stands all year. One person pays once; everybody else joins free.
No commissioner, no chasing people to play, no “who did I beat in March.” The callouts, the clocks, and the standings run on their own, and every result has the card that proves it.
Name it, pick gross or net. That’s the whole setup: one payment, one season.
Players join free from a link or QR and claim their name. On a net ladder each player sets a handicap at the door.
The rungs seed by handicap: best player starts on top, with a target on their back. Reorder before launch if your group knows better.
